Best Diaper Bag for 2 Kids

My goal in finding the best diaper bag is to make sure it can fit enough things for two kids.

As much as possible, I want all my baby’s things to be complete in one bag and have a few extras in case of an emergency.

Finding a diaper bag that checks off these requirements can be challenging. Fortunately, I have found 5 of the best diaper bags you should definitely buy for your baby.

1. Mothercare Skip Hop Mainframe Wide Open Diaper Backpack – Best Overall

Mothercare Skip Hop Mainframe Wide Open Diaper Backpack

Product Description

  • Dimensions: 7 x 15 x 15 inches
  • Features: Insulated side bottle pockets, adjustable straps, built-in stroller straps, double top handles
  • Material: Polyester
  • Weight: 1.8 pounds

The Skip Hop diaper bag looks similar to the Anello backpack’s style. They don’t just share the same appearance — they are also very handy when tested.

I love this backpack’s wide frame opening because I can instantly reach for what I need. You don’t have to rummage to the bottom of the bag just to get your baby’s diapers!

The inside of the bag is wide enough that you won’t have a hard time fitting all your baby’s diaper bag essentials.

I got a bit excited about testing this bag, and I’m happy to report that even my laptop fits inside!

One of my favorite features is its adjustable straps. The top handles are perfect for when you’re in a rush because you can grab it and go!

If you don’t want to carry it around, strap it on your baby’s stroller instead.

Unfortunately, I wish the bag had extra compartments inside. I would have been able to pack extra nappies and blankets inside.

  • Convenient adjustable straps
  • Comes with a cushioned changing pad inside
  • Perfect for everyday use
  • Minimal and unassuming design

  • Does not have inner compartments

  • Features: Bottle holder, water-resistant material
  • Material: Polyester
  • Weight: 1.7 pounds

You can’t find a bag as premium as the Bebear Bennet diaper backpack

You wouldn’t think that this bag has many pockets by looking at it — in fact, it has 15 pockets! I initially thought it to be overkill, but apparently, it’s a lifesaver.

You can stuff your baby’s toys, bottles, diapers, clothes, and more! I can go on and on about what you can carry, and there will be a pocket for it.

Thanks to its large and sturdy design, you won’t have difficulty finding a place for your baby’s favorite belongings. The bag also comes with stroller straps, making your life more convenient than you imagined.

I can’t emphasize enough how I’m head over heels for this bag. But unfortunately, this bag comes with a huge price tag I’m not sure most parents are willing to spend.

  • Has many compartments for all baby essentials
  • Made of high-quality and durable materials
  • Water-resistant polyester material
  • Unisex design, perfect for moms and dads

  • Very expensive compared to most diaper bags

3. Lekebaby Diaper Bag – Best Budget Pick

Lekebaby Diaper Bag

Product Description

  • Dimensions: 16 x 6 x 13.5 inches
  • Features: Water-resistant material, BPA and phthalate-free
  • Material: Nylon
  • Weight: 2.25 pounds

The Lekebaby diaper bag is one of the MOST AFFORDABLE bags I’ve found. It scores major plus points for me because it doesn’t compromise quality, even for its price.

It’s easy to bring around, especially when you’re running late. Just grab the long shoulder straps and bolt out the door.

Despite being a tote bag, I was pleasantly surprised to fit most of my baby’s things! It’s perfect for parents looking for a diaper bag for twins!

There are a lot of pockets on the inside and outside of this bag. Getting things out was so easy I was hardly worried about making a mess. Plus, the bag is also pretty lightweight

However, I did notice that the bag is quite hard to clean. You don’t want to get stains on it, or you’ll have to put the bag straight into the washer.

  • Perfect for kids of all ages
  • Tons of storage and pocket options
  • Wide top opening
  • Water-resistant fabric

  • Some parents report that the fabric gets torn easily
  • Difficult to clean

4. Sea Choice Changing Bag Backpack

Sea Choice Changing Bag Backpack

Product Description

  • Dimensions: 7.8 x 11.8 x 16.5 inches
  • Features: Changing pad, padded laptop pocket, mesh organizers
  • Material: Polyester
  • Weight: 1.78 pounds

The Sea Choice bag is handy for working moms like me. It has a separate laptop compartment for days when work won’t stop bugging you.

Its design makes it much easier for me to bring the bag around without feeling unnecessarily bulky. The bag also held up well with all my baby’s things inside.

If it were up to me, I would consider giving this bag as a gift to expecting parents. I know I’d be more than happy if someone gave me this. It’s so handy, perfect for everyday use.

The only complaint I have is the pockets on this bag are a bit small. They’re hard to pull wide open, which is quite challenging when trying to fit things.

  • Has insulated bottle pockets
  • Wide top opening
  • Multi-functional design — backpack, handbag, or stroller bag
  • Made of high-quality and durable materials

  • Pockets are too small for some items

5. Skip Hop Diaper Bag Backpack

Skip Hop Diaper Bag Backpack

Product Description

  • Dimensions: 8  x 14 x 16 inches
  • Features: Laptop compartment, bottle and cellphone holder, adjustable strap
  • Material: Polyester
  • Weight: 1.4 pounds

One of the main reasons why this bag attracted me is its quilt design and sleek black color.

It looks far from the usual baby diaper bags I see around. It’s so unassuming; I consider it the best dad diaper bag I’ve seen.

This, for me, is the gold standard for an everyday diaper bag. It has easy-access outer pockets, perfect for when your baby suddenly starts wailing and needs a bottle.

I also love that this bag comes with a changing pad. I can put this on the diaper-changing table, so my baby can lie comfortably!

However, I don’t recommend this bag when you plan to load it with many heavy things. The strap might give in at any moment, which is a big deal breaker for me.

  • Comes with built-in stroller straps
  • Wide opening compartment
  • Lightweight and modern design
  • Padded backpack straps for extra comfort

  • Strap durability could be improved

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Diaper Bag for Two Kids

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Diaper Bag for Two Kids

I considered several factors I know will be very important when using the bag later. I’ve listed some of them here so you can find the best bag for your kids!

1. How Much You Pack

My friends warned me about most first-time parents’ common mistake: over-packing.

Regardless of how many kids you have and how many things you plan to pack, ensure it fits your bag.

If you’re packing for two kids, your bag should be medium to large. You don’t want to over-stuff a bag, making it look bulky and weird!

At the same time, you don’t want your bag to be too big, or you won’t be able to organize the contents of your bag properly.

2. Style vs. Function/Comfort

Style has always been an important factor for me. As an expecting mother, I’ve realized that I should put function and comfort above anything else.

Remember, you will be bringing your baby’s diaper bag everywhere. You should be comfortable enough to carry the bag around, similar to how you bring your LVs!

At the same time, your bag has to be the end-all and be all of your baby’s things. Not only can it be a diaper bag, but you might also chance upon other bags that fit some baby bottles and formula.

But just because you’re after function and comfort doesn’t mean you can’t find fashionable-looking bags as an option!

3. Features

I didn’t know at first that diaper bags came with features. After discovering the different features they could have, I upped my standards.

At the outset, some features include the following:

  • Lightweight design
  • Water resistance outer and inner material
  • Insulated pockets
  • Diaper/bottle organizer
  • Stroller strap

All these features make your life with a diaper bag more convenient. Take the case of stroller straps, which are perfect for parents who don’t want to carry the bag.

Or, the insulated pockets, which are perfect for keeping my baby’s milk warm at all times!

You won’t need a separate bag anymore for every function you need. It can help you save money and take away the strain of carrying too many bags.

4. Type of Diaper Bag

What kind of diaper bag are you willing to bring around? There are different types to choose from, how to choose a diaper bag might be a challenge for you.

Let’s explore the different styles and determine which is best for you:

I don’t like backpacks because they’re usually bulky. However, when it comes to the best travel diaper bags, I can’t deny that they’re the most functional

It’s perfect for parents with many kids because of the number of stuff you can put in. Plus, they’re easier to bring when strapped behind your bag instead of one shoulder!

Tote Bag

A tote bag is enough if you don’t plan to bring many things. You can pack only the essentials, like extra diapers and a baby bottle, and be on the go!

However, keep in mind that most tote bags don’t provide a ton of storage. I noticed how most bags can only fit a few things, which is a bit worrying for me.

At the same time, maneuvering around with the bag and a kid in hand might prove to be a challenge. The bag will swing around or, worse, slip from your shoulder.

Messenger Bag

Messenger bags are perfect for parents who want a HANDS-FREE carrying experience. Just strap it across your body, and you’re all set!

What I love about most messenger bags is they provide adequate storage. However, they tend to be too bulky for my liking.

I noticed that they’re hard to carry the bulkier they are. Some of my friends hand over their baby messenger bags to their husbands because of their weight.

Multi-function Bags

If you’re indecisive like me, you might want to invest in a good multi-functional bag instead. You can strap it in different ways to become a backpack, tote bag, or messenger bag!

There are some days when you can’t be left to yourself to decide. Thankfully, a multi-functional bag lays down the options for you.

Just be sure to find a bag with a sturdy strap system, regardless of how you style it. You don’t want the straps breaking down on you.

5. Budget

You can find a good number of diaper bags for your budget.

As an expecting mom, I try to be frugal with my choices. Considering how many more things I have to buy, I need to be smart with where I spend my money.

On average, most diaper bags cost anywhere between Php 1,000 to 10,000. But remember, you don’t have to sacrifice the quality of your baby’s diaper bag just for the price.

Frequently Asked Questions

Even now, I still have a lot of questions in my mind about parenting and what my baby needs. I was lucky enough to get the answers from seasoned parents, which greatly helped me.

Today, I’ll answer some of the FAQs I always hear from first-time parents like me. Keep reading because you might just learn a thing or two from what I’m about to share:

Do You Need a Diaper Bag for Each Child?

You don’t need a diaper for each of your kids. One is enough as long as it can fit all the essentials.

Just be sure to find a bag with a relatively large storage capacity. Some bags already indicate how many children the bag is for, like one to three.

Bringing around multiple bags for each kid will be a hassle. You’ll have fewer hands to deal with your kids.

How Do You Organize One Diaper Bag for Two Kids?

Fitting all your kid’s things in a single diaper bag is tricky. Nevertheless, it’s possible if you know how to pack properly.

As much as possible, make sure to sort similar items together. I highly suggest buying bag organizers if the bag doesn’t come with compartments.

Doing so will make your life easier. Plus, you don’t have to mess up the arrangement inside your bag whenever you pull something out!

At What Age Do Your Kids Stop Needing Diaper Bags?

I’ve asked some of my mom’s friends about this, and the average answer is between two and three years old.

However, this could still be on a case-to-case basis, depending on whether your kid still uses a diaper and a bottle.

The more your kid grows, the smaller your bag becomes!

With all the different diaper bag styles to choose from, I’m sure you will be ready to go out in style!

Don’t forget to factor in all the considerations, pros, and cons we discuss so that you purchase a bag that satisfies your needs.

I also suggest you also prepare the things you need to pack in a diaper bag for your big day in the hospital.

Hello, my name is Josie Mariano, and I’m proud to say I’m a soon-to-be mom.
Although my partner and I are still waiting for our firstborn to arrive, we’re already doing whatever it takes to prepare for our baby’s needs.
I’ve been joining a lot of parenting forums and asking my doctors for advice on how to prepare for my baby. They’ve all been very informative and I was able to spot the areas I still need to work on.
At the same time, I also rely on my mom for tips on what to do during my pregnancy journey.
With everything that I’ve learned so far, I’d like to share these experiences to fellow parents and soon-to-be parents!
